Jesus Christ's Commandments
“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”
“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.”
Jesus commands His followers to keep His commandments if they love Him. To keep His commandments, we must first know His commandments.
Part of what many of us know as the “Great Commission” and last direction that Jesus Christ gave to His followers recorded in the Gospel according to Matthew was to teach all nations to observe all things whatsoever He has commanded them.
With this in mind, we who follow Jesus Christ must know, live, and teach His Commandments.
In fact, the writer of 1 John in the New Testament of the Holy Bible provided this message to the followers of Jesus Christ;
“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”
The love of God is perfected in those who keep His Word. Let us be diligent to learn the commandments of Jesus Christ, keep the commandments of Jesus Christ, and teach all nations to observe all things that Jesus Christ has commanded.
