The amount of people who identify as Christian is on a rapid decline in many places around the world, especially in the United States of America
About 63% of the US population identifies as Christian. Christians have long made up the majority of the population in the United States. Recent studies show that in the next 48 years, if the current decline of self identified Christian’s continues, that the majority of the population will identify as having “no religious affiliation” at 52%. The percentage of those identifying as Christian could drop to as low as 35% within the next 48 years.
In 1990 85% of the United States population identified as Christian. In 2001 81.6%. In 2012 78%. In 2014 70.6%. In 2015 75%. In 2020 65%. 2022 63% (Estimate).
22% of the entire United States of America population(85% to 63%) no longer identify as Christian in only 32 years!
Church attendance is significantly down and church buildings are being repurposed
In 2020, 47% of Americans said that they belonged to a church, down from 70% in 1999.
-Over 500 churches have closed in Germany since 2000 and Canada has lost 20% of its churches in the same time frame.
-As of 2021, less than half of German citizens belong to a church for the first time in the country’s history.
There is a great lack in Bible reading & Biblical worldview
As of 2022 only 10% of Americans say that they read the Bible daily. Only 39% of Americans read their Bible multiple times per year.
The highest percentage of Baby Boomers, Elders, and Generation X report “not having enough time” as the frustration related to Bible usage. Millennials reported “not enough time” and “not knowing where to start,”. “Not knowing where to start,” was also a common response for Generation Z. All generations reported “bringing them closer to God” as the reason that they do read the Bible.
The American Bible Society reported in 2017 that 87% of American households own a Bible (that’s 9 out of every 10 households).
Only 20% of Americans report to have actually read the whole Bible at least once in their lifetime.
A survey released in 2022 identifies that only 37% of U.S. Pastors Hold a Biblical Worldview.
Only 12% of Children’s/Youth pastors hold a Biblical Worldview.
Only 9% of “born- again” believers in America hold a Biblical Worldview.
The Body of Christ continues to divide more and more
The number of Christian Denominations / Rites has swelled from 13,100 in 1970 to 46,400 as of mid 2022. The total number of Christian denominations is projected to increase to 64,000 by 2050.
The time is now for All Nations to Learn and Abide in the Teachings of Jesus Christ.
